Piper could feel him the moment he'd moved closer but something deep within her didn't feel threatened. And so she didn't let it alter her pace up the Tor - enjoying the lazy walk up.

The closer they got to the top, the more she felt her senses prickle awake, sensing magic all around her. She rubbed her fingertips together with a hum and breathed in slowly, then letting it out. The village had become a prime place for modern witches and pagans to visit as a pilgrimage and she could see why. It was steeped in history, and lore and had no short of ley lines to boost the inherent magic of the land.

And still, with one look around them, she knew not everyone picked up on it. It was both a blessing and a shame.

"I'm not sure I understand anyone leaving here and not picking up on the magic and wonder of this place," she murmured if only to herself.

Not able to help herself, she glanced back to take a look at the man who had fallen into step with her - though passing it off as looking at how far they'd come up the hill already. While she didn't recognize him, she didn't feel inherent danger from him and that was a plus in her book. He could be meeting someone up at the top or making his own visit to the site like the others in the crowd.
