Hi, Come Here Often? [for inframundo]
Piper couldn't believe this was the first time she'd been to Glastonbury. And yet, somehow, it felt like she'd been here.
Many times before.
And truth be told, she probably had in former lives.
Magic felt alive here and while she was here for a reason (something that would be completed in the next couple of days), she couldn't help but take the moment to soak it all up.
She'd really have to make more of an effort to get out and visit these highly mystical sites in the future.
As long as life doesn't become even more complicated like she was hearing rumors of.
Jordan and she had done the massive tour of England after high school graduation but somehow, they'd never made it here. She'd have to drag the other woman back at the soonest opportunity they had but for now, Jordan would just have to settle for a touristy shot glass that she hoped didn't break on the way back.
Piper glanced at the time and considered her options. She'd have a bite to eat after she went up the Tor and visited St Michael's Tower. With that settled, she made her way through the village and up the Tor, taking her time.

They had spent years across so many countries, causing so much trouble and having so much fun, and they had enjoyed life so much.
Then she was gone.
He hadn't come back here before now, and he's still not even sure why he was there. He just had felt drawn there, traveling all night by sports car along the European roads until he'd found himself there with the sun coming up over the hill.
If he'd admit things to others, he'd talk about the idea of his heart aching but then he would be the first to say his heart was nothing but atrophied and those that knew differently were not there.
Others were making their way through the village and to the Tor. Definitely different than how it used to be, others curious, seeking so much, but fearing the witchcraft of the place. Now no one feared those things. Not when they came here.
Yet one stood out, frowning as he slid his sunglasses off his eyes. Despite the charm he wears, it still burns his eyes as he looks at the woman making her way through the crowd. Her hair is less wild, her clothing mostly more modern, but there's something about her that has him quickening his step to bring him closer to her. Unable to help his curiosity, as he falls into step close to her but not on her heels, watching her manners and how she moves.

The closer they got to the top, the more she felt her senses prickle awake, sensing magic all around her. She rubbed her fingertips together with a hum and breathed in slowly, then letting it out. The village had become a prime place for modern witches and pagans to visit as a pilgrimage and she could see why. It was steeped in history, and lore and had no short of ley lines to boost the inherent magic of the land.
And still, with one look around them, she knew not everyone picked up on it. It was both a blessing and a shame.
"I'm not sure I understand anyone leaving here and not picking up on the magic and wonder of this place," she murmured if only to herself.
Not able to help herself, she glanced back to take a look at the man who had fallen into step with her - though passing it off as looking at how far they'd come up the hill already. While she didn't recognize him, she didn't feel inherent danger from him and that was a plus in her book. He could be meeting someone up at the top or making his own visit to the site like the others in the crowd.

He hadn't thought she might come back, and he knows it might not be her at all, but now he can't help but try and find out. If nothing else one of that power was always useful.
The timbre of her voice runs along his spine and he steps slightly closer as if it was meant for him and not talking to herself.
"Most of them live their lives never knowing the magic around them. Not surprising they can't pick it up even here."
Though he understands her thoughts. It was practically like walking through water. How could they not know?

If it wasn't her, it was another past life.
When he spoke, a shiver or... a thrill slid down her spine, causing her to glance over at him noticing that he had moved in closer. He had a great voice and an equally great body. She felt that sense of something she couldn't quite place - something that felt like she knew him from somewhere before.
Her mouth quirks up. "You're not wrong. It's disappointing but I can't say it's a surprise."

But then maybe that was for the best and he's not inundated with others trying to seek her out.
"You can see it though in some of the things they see and do," he says, shifting in slightly closer and pointing to a woman standing nearby. She seems mesmerized as she touches a stone chalice set on display.
"She doesn't know why, and she might not remember this moment, but some part of her does."
no subject
When he steps in closer, she doesn't bother moving to put space between them. Instead, she focuses on what he's saying and pays attention to the woman he was pointing out.
'...some part of her does.'
Like she did.
Some part of her knew this place, despite never being here before.
Some part of her knew him, despite knowing she's definitely never met him before.
But something deep in her soul knew both things intimately well.
"A feeling I'm coming to recognize. Not remembering when or how but... knowing I've been here." She wasn't sure why she was sharing this with basically a complete albeit handsome stranger, but here she was.
She goes quiet for a moment, studying the ruins ahead of them and feeling the magic surround them thickly. "If ever there was a place where the veil was thin, it would be here, I imagine," she says and glances at him.
"When was the last time you were here," she asks with a tilt of her head.

If he had any doubt of who she was, who she had been, that she feels it as well tells him all he needs to know. It's madness, if he's honest, and he should walk away and leave her until she remembers it on her own but he can't bring himself to do that. Not when he has this chance.
"Do you want to remember?"
He asks the words before he can stop himself, thinking about how right she is about the veil and how thin it is right now. Right there on that spot.
The question though brings laughter, shaking his head. Maybe she realizes the truth. He's not sure. There's a magic about her that reminds him of Sionnach, that nothing has changed but he's not certain if that's seeing her soul or the form she has this time around.
"I'm not sure you would believe me if I told you."
no subject
Piper blinks when he asks if she wants to remember. She glances around to make sure no one was within listening distance before looking at him and playing one of her cards, admitting what she was in a broad sense.
"I wished for that, said a little spell years ago as a stupid teenager and then spent the next several years having dreams of one of my past lives. So, I'm a little more hesitant about wanting to remember. But, I get the feeling that she was here."
Should she have shared that information with him? Maybe, maybe not. But there was that ever-present feeling that said she could... what, trust him? Confide in him?
"You'd be surprised at what I'd believe. Besides, I can sense what you are... if that helps." Maybe it was because of her past life or it was part of being a witch, she wasn't sure but she'd always been able to pick up on other supernatural entities around her.
no subject
He nods at that, not at all surprised that she's already embraced what she had been before. A powerful witch as she was would reincarnate life after life. They would become the same again unlike others.
"She was here, but that was a very long time ago. I was still practically young then." He'd been a vampire but not for the centuries he now had experienced. "And I knew you then. Here. She was one of the priestess of myth that they talk about. You were."
It's not a lot, on either side, but it's admitting a lot nonetheless.

She blinks though when he confirms that she had been here before and was some sort of priestess. Though, she could see how it would appear that way.
"A priestess who had some favorite bloody past times," Piper says considering him for a long moment. Not that she was judging but it was not a path that she herself has gone down in this life.
As an Enchanted with Jordan, and still learning what that meant, they were supposed to be this 'force of good' or balance in the world. Logically, she knew that in order for there to be balance, there had to be dark and light.
After a moment, she turns to face him more fully. "So you knew her well then?"
no subject
Well at least what.
"I don't know if I should say. I mean, you're the one saying she was a priestess with a bloody past time. I admit, I'm curious why you would say that."
The truth is, they were both wicked and bloody and deadly. More than that, they found delight in it all and celebrated being what they were.
"You don't seem bothered by the idea that might be her past though."
no subject
"There will be no judgments from me, I just have a really good feeling about things," she answers cryptically with a smile, unsure of how much to honestly share with him just yet. But if he was right and he knew Sionnach, then he knew she was right.
She shrugs a shoulder. "I've had some time to come to terms with who she possibly was."
But if he had been there and knew Sionnach, why didn't she remember him? He was eye-catching and damned attractive, definitely, someone she would have remembered if nothing else.
